A desire for music. Music as you desire.
The Early Years
Jairo's music career started in his hometown of Brooklyn, NY. Not born into a family of musicians, Jairo taught himself how to play guitar at an early age. A boombox, a cheap acoustic guitar, and top 40 radio programming were his instruments of choice.
Fast-forward to high school and Jairo would join his first band as a bass player. Even though Jairo aspired to be a lead guitarist, fate would lead him to pick up the bass.
Jairo learned the bass guitar very quickly. He discovered he had a natural talent for improvisation, writing melodies and harmonies, and creating bass line arpeggios without ever having taken a lesson or learning any music theory.
Jairo would go on to join many bands, playing many styles of music ranging from rock, grunge, world, indie, and metal. His first taste of touring would take him out of Brooklyn, NY and on the road out west, as far as Texas, hitting several cities over a month's time.
Over the years, Jairo would continue touring, playing states and cities ranging as far north as Boston, MA and as far south as South Padre Island, TX, before leaving his hometown.
The Nashville Years
Jairo would find himself moving to Nashville, TN, but not for music. However, after a year of not picking up his bass, Jairo would eventually meet a guitarist and singer duo looking for a bass player. This marked the beginning of Jairo's renewed desire to play music once again.
Jairo continued to perform in bands of various genres and styles, with the most successful of these bands being the duo mentioned earlier, The Worsties.
Jairo would continue to perform, record, and tour through the years with several appearances on television and radio shows, along with placement of music on cable network shows like "Bad Girls Club", "Real World", and "Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Ax."
The ultimate highlight of Jairo's career was performing at Soldier Stadium in Chicago, IL with The Worsties as the opening act for Bon Jovi.
Eventually, Jairo would walk away from the music scene once again, this time to dedicate his time to raising his son. But he would not stay away from music for too long.
Stalk The Owls
In the Fall of 2014, Jairo set out to create horror-genre, instrumental music while exploring the field of film scoring. This would mark the beginning of Stalk The Owls®.
Jairo would immerse himself in the study of music production, learning and practicing the art of mixing and mastering, while exploring the use of virtual instruments and synthesizers to compose music; a first for the bass player.
After releasing an album, an EP, and two singles, Stalk The Owls® would be more than just a moniker for horror-genre music. Stalk The Owls® would become an amalgamation of artist, composer, producer, and musician, embracing the world of music creation and production in all forms.
Stalk The Owls® is available for hire to work on film scores, music for brands and businesses, music for production libraries, and music for trailers. Let's channel our frequencies together. Get in touch today at contact@stalktheowls.com
